Paul speaks frequently at libraries, bookstores, conferences, colloquia, literary societies, seminars, meetings, book fairs, and the like, and he tailors his remarks to the audience.  Mostly he tells humorous and poignant stories about Amish people he has met, each time making a point about the culture, religion, and lifestyles of these remarkable people.  He also discusses the novels he has written, explaining the theme of each book, and describing the principles and motivations that guided the writing.
